Ash Wednesday!

So as we celebrate Ash Wednesday there are a few things that we forget to remember, of course today as we the good catholics are NOT suppose to eat meat. back in t he day we were to fast but I think that in time we have got over that belief as everyone starved on Ash Wednesday. Today no we eat without the meat in our diet. So as I sit today and I am eating salad, wondering just how long that is going to last me for the day. AND of course we MUST go get the ashes, I have told the girls every year that the reason we go get them is to be blessed and it will help us on the right path. NOW as they are older they are wondering what are really wondering what the true meaning is behind the catholic belief and that they are learning that in CCD or as it has been changed to Faith Formation. Last night we had a discussion abut that we were going to give up that was important to us OR what we are going to chang
e to better ourselves. SO yes you are wondering what I chose, WELL I have chose to take away negative thoughts and actions in my life. I am now practicing POSITIVE POSITIVE POSITIVE. As we were going around the I realized as the girls were going to give up, sweets, fighting, Maddie said apply herself more in school, which is great and she does a great job anyway. Then it was my turn and instead of just to give something up for 6 weeks, I want to make a life change. So yes you will see the inspiration as well the encouraging words and not only for you but also for me to remind me of my new lok on life and how I handle it. Maybe will be a year goal of mine to change or add  a positive way of life every year at Lent. However the true meaning is to give up something that is very important to you or means well. I have already accomplished that with NO Credit Cards! Good luck with your Lent Season and God Bless to all of you!
